繰り返される虐殺 人類全体の問題：作家Ｖ・タジョさんが日本で講演―文学者の役割を強調
コートジボワール人作家で、フランス政府から芸術文化勲章コマンドゥールを授与されているヴェロニク・タジョ（Vélonique Tadjo）氏が来日し、3月に東京大学で講演を行った。アフリカ・ルワンダで起きたジェノサイドを元にした小説「神（イマーナ）の影（原題L’ombre d’Imana, 英題The Shadow of Imana; Travels in the Heart of Rwanda）」を2000年に発表している同氏。それを解題し、「凄惨な出来事を人が直視し、様々な角度から考え続けることは、将来それの抑止につながる」と語った。参加者約180人は生存者の証言や記憶を受け取る意義について考えた。
旅行記と創作物語で想像促す
タジョ氏を招いたのは、同大学とそこに拠点を置くアフリカ文学研究者ら。同書の日本語訳を19年に発刊、すぐ翻訳記念をと考えていたが、新型コロナで延期されていた。
